Google Acquires DoubleClick for $3.1 Billion

Slowly but steadily, they ventured into “banner” advertising, then “video” advertising, then affiliate programs, and now they have purchased one of the biggest “traditional” online advertisement networks, DoubleClick. Their huge dependence on their “advertising” model is both exciting and scary at the same time.
