A Pocketful of Sunshine

4/29/2017 By Ravi Jayagopal Leave a Comment

Wish I could be like him. This photo always lifts up my spirits and the awesome song "I've got a pocketful of sunshine" (Natasha Bedingfield) starts playing in my head. And my mood is instantly elevated. He is a male dog named Vanilla (don't ask) - the world's happiest, kindest, sweetest, gentlest, shyest, most loving being. And all he wants is a tiny strip of sunshine from any window in the house, a little food & water, and an evening walk or run. Never imagined there could be a living thing that had such low expectations, and such a high level of happiness with whatever little he has. Never complains. Always happy. Always grateful. I'm not there, but I try, every day, to be grateful for what I have been blessed with. #grateful #blessed #mybestfriend #happyforlife #grateful #lowexpectations #begratefulforwhatyouhave #natashabedingfield #pocketfullofsunshine

I’m not there yet, but I try, every day, to be grateful for what I have been blessed with.

I Have The (Audio) Power

4/27/2017 By Ravi Jayagopal Leave a Comment

Podcasting is one of the greatest things ever invented. I personally believe that when it comes to the ability to connect with people on a deeper, personal level, Audio is second only to Video. And with all the ways already invented every day to interrupt, annoy and distract people – TV, Netflix, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Whatsapp, Hangouts, and on and on... and more ways being interrupted every day, podcasting, in some ways, has become the single most powerful, relationship- and fan-building tool there is – even more so than video. You can’t listen to the radio show that you want to, when you want to. Whatever is playing when you get into your car is what you have to listen to. Even with expensive Satellite radio, you only get more channels, but you don’t get the channels on-demand. You can’t get a show on satellite radio to start when you’re ready for it - you still have to listen to the shows on their clock, not on yours. You can’t be driving and watching a YouTube video (I guess you could, but if you did, then you probably wouldn’t be well enough to be reading this right now, would you?). You can’t read an online article or a book or a blog post or a PDF report, when you’re driving to work, or walking your dog, or at the gym, or doing the dishes... Podcasts can go “where no other media has gone before”. The host of the show – whether they are making you think, laugh, cry or learn – they’re in your ears, talking directly to you, they have your fullest attention, you are focused in on their voice, even if you’re performing a chore. The power of audio is yet unparalleled. And thanks to my podcast at SubscribeMe.fm, "I Have The (Audio) Power!" #audio #podcast #podcaster #podcasters #podcasting #radioisdead #ondemand #learningonthego #heman #masteroftheuniverse

DOGPOO vs DOSAA

4/26/2017 By Ravi Jayagopal Leave a Comment

DOGPOO: Do Once Get Paid Only Once. DOSAA: Do Once Sell Again & Again. You cannot build a long-term profitable online business selling one-time products. You need to create recurring products and subscriptions. I have packed my 21 years of experience selling online, into a podcast on how to create membership sites, online courses and recurring subscriptions, at SubscribeMe.fm (link in bio). Be sure to start from episode 1. Lots of goodness in the (so far) 54 episodes. And yes, I made up "Dogpoo vs Dosaa". And in case you didn't know, Dosa is an Asian-Indian delicacy. If I could suggest you have just one Indian food, it would be that. So the words were deliberately crafted: Dogpoo: Stinks. Dosaa: Rocks #recurringrevenue #recurringincome #onetimeproducts #dogpoo #dosa #passiveincome #evergreenproducts #membershipsite #membershipsites

Better Than Disneyland

How Your Online Course Can Be Better Than Disneyland

How Your Online Course Can Be Better Than Disneyland

So recently, along with my family, I visited Disney California Adventure.

And a few months ago, in December 2016, during the holiday break, my family and I went to Universal Studios.

Now, I live in San Diego, which is about 1.5 hours from Anaheim, which is where Disneyland and California adventure are located. And about a 3 hour drive from Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

Universal has something called “Front of Line” access. It is about $100 dollars more on top of a regular ticket, which by itself costs about $100.

So when you pay an extra $100 for front-of-line access, you basically get to go to the front of the line for every single ride, only once per ride, of course. And even if you go on a week day, let alone going during a major holiday, the lines are absolutely crushingly long. 1 to 2 hours wait for each ride. And because we paid extra for front-of-line access, we were able to get to the front of the line for every single ride, thus saving us at least 1 hour per ride.

So paying $400 extra for 4 front-of-line passes, was totally worth it, considering we saved about 4 to 6 hours in total of standing in line. Now that’s a win-win, if you ask me. Universal wins because it gets to squeeze out an extra $100 per ticket for the front-of-line access, and it was a win for us because we saved so much time, and that made it so much more enjoyable, and we were able to get to all of the rides, and it only enhanced the experience.

But here’s the problem with what Disney does, which is completely the opposite of what Universal Studios does. And here’s why you shouldn’t make the mistake of following Disney’s model, and should instead use Universal’s model….

Listen to the rest of this via my podcast episode above.
